Midsummer Eve Bonfire on Skagen Beach1906 (Danish: Sankt Hansblus p� Skagen strand) is a 1906 painting by P.S. Kr�yer. The large work, which took several years to complete, shows many of the artists in the group known as the Skagen Painters as well as influential members of Skagen's local community.
Peder Severin Kr�yer (23 July 1851 � 21 November 1909), known as P. S. Kr�yer, was a Danish painter. He is one of the best known and beloved, and undeniably the most colorful of the Skagen Painters, a community of Danish and Nordic artists who lived, gathered or worked in Skagen, Denmark, especially during the final decades of the 19th century. Kr�yer was the unofficial leader of the group.
