Moorland or moor is a type of habitat found in upland areas in temperate grasslands, savannas, and shrublands and montane grasslands and shrublands biomes, characterised by low-growing vegetation on acidic soils.
Archibald Thorburn 31 May 1860 - 9 October 1935 was a Scottish artist and animal painter and bird illustrator, painting mostly in watercolor. He regularly visited Scotland to sketch birds in the wild, his favorite haunt being the Forest of Gaick near Kingussie in Invernesshire.
